Pakistan Cricket Board has begun hunting down on its cricketers that were alleged to be involved in a spot-fixing scandal in the Pakistan Super League.

After the suspensions of prominent players like Khalid Latif, Shahzeb Hasan, Sharjeel Khan and Mohammad Irfan, PCB has now imposed a 10-year ban on Nasir Jamshed from all forms of the game.

The 28-year old who resides in the United Kingdom nowadays was initially suspected of convincing four players to get involved in a spot-fixing incident in PSL 2017. Jamshed was charged with the allegations in May on bringing the game under scrutiny.

Now, an official penalty has been handed to the Pakistani opening batsman. The charges levelled on him included noncooperation with the tribunal that is overseeing the case and also, deliberately not informing the respective authorities after being approached by bookies and match-fixers.

The 28-year old had earlier rubbished the allegations, saying that they were simply ridiculous. It would be interesting to see if he decides to file an appeal against the penalty. Shahzeb Hasan did appeal against his one-year ban but to no avail. Afterwards, his ban was increased to four years.

In what turned out to be a start-stop international career, Jamshed featured for Pakistan in early 2015, the last time. He had a horrendous run in the 2015 World Cup and couldn’t find his way back to the national side after it.
